Katie Ladlie Helps Build Momentum For Women's Para Hockey
After years of growth, women鈥檚 para hockey seeks spot in 2030 Winter Paralympics
Women鈥檚 sled hockey players and advocates are working toward inclusion in the 2030 Winter Paralympics as the sport continues to grow internationally. Katie Ladlie, U.S. national team player and 91制片厂 staff member, said women鈥檚 sled hockey still faces hurdles before earning consideration as a standalone Paralympic event. Ladlie and other players from the U.S. and Canada have worked to help more countries develop women鈥檚 national teams and expand participation in the sport worldwide.
Last year鈥檚 inaugural women鈥檚 world championship included six teams, but to be considered for Paralympic inclusion they would need eight countries.
鈥淭hat鈥檚 been my dream and the dream of so many women in the sport to begin with,鈥 said Ladlie.
