Women’s sled hockey players and advocates are working toward inclusion in the 2030 Winter Paralympics as the sport continues to grow internationally. Katie Ladlie, U.S. national team player and 91��Ƭ�� staff member, said women’s sled hockey still faces hurdles before earning consideration as a standalone Paralympic event. Ladlie and other players from the U.S. and Canada have worked to help more countries develop women’s national teams and expand participation in the sport worldwide.

Last year’s inaugural women’s world championship included six teams, but to be considered for Paralympic inclusion they would need eight countries.

“That’s been my dream and the dream of so many women in the sport to begin with,” said Ladlie.
