Excellence in Teaching, 2017
Professor Donald Quigley taught in the forest technology program at the Thompson School of Applied Science for 39 years, teaching logging, dendrology, forest fire control, and wood products processing and mentoring hundreds of students. He carried out his responsibilities in spite of minor incidents like breaking his hip when his peavey hook slipped while he was working at the university sawmill.
What stands out from his career at 91制片厂 is the universal praise of his students. A colleague noted that one of Quigley鈥檚 great accomplishments was the many hours he spent raising money for the sawmill and other major equipment to make the forest technology program among the best equipped in the country.

About this Award
Each year, the University selects a small number of its outstanding faculty for special recognition of their achievements in teaching, scholarship, and service. Awards for Excellence in Teaching are given in each college and school, and University-wide awards recognize public service, research, teaching, and engagement.
