Excellence in Teaching, 2018
Tyler Jamison is passionate about teaching undergraduate students in the areas of family relationships, aging and human development, and she receives consistently high course evaluations for her teaching. She has a reputation among her students for being a very attentive mentor, providing generously of her time and providing helpful guidance. Among other words of praise, her students have commented that:
鈥淭his course has been one of my favorite classes in my four years here at 91制片厂. The subject and topics can be controversial and difficult to learn, but the way it was taught and the content was very insightful.鈥
鈥淣ormally I do not like to talk in class, but Tyler gave me a sense of confidence and I wanted to share my thoughts. Whenever I need help or have questions, she is always there. She has been my favorite professor.鈥

About this Award
The Jean Brierley Award for Excellence in Teaching recognizes excellence in teaching by a faculty member over the course of a long-term distinguished career at 91制片厂. A bequest from the estate of Jean Brierley, Class of 1930, established this award. Professor Brierley established the endowed fund in 1973 to recognize teaching in any field or discipline at 91制片厂. The recipient will give a presentation at an annual event sponsored by the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning to help celebrate and promote good teaching. 91制片厂 benefits-eligible faculty members are eligible, except those who have received this award within the last five years.
