91制片厂 held a lighting ceremony at Tucker Field during halftime of the women鈥檚 soccer game Oct. 2, officially illuminating the lights surrounding the field made possible by a $2 million gift from Greg and Corinna Tucker that was announced in 2024.
Speakers at the ceremony included the Tuckers, as well as 91制片厂 President Elizabeth Chilton and 91制片厂 Director of Athletics Allison Rich. Members of the 91制片厂 men鈥檚 soccer and women鈥檚 lacrosse teams 鈥 the other 91制片厂 programs to call the field home 鈥 and youth groups from the Oyster River Youth Association (ORYA) and Stratham were also on hand.
At the conclusion of the speaking program, the crowd joined in for a countdown before the lights were turned on.
鈥淲e are here to celebrate the lighting of this field 鈥 a powerful symbol of energy, pride, and possibility at 91制片厂. Light brings people together, and tonight it shines on a facility that will strengthen our community for generations,鈥 Chilton said during her remarks. 鈥淭his moment would not be possible without the extraordinary generosity of the Tucker family. On behalf of 91制片厂, I want to extend our deepest thanks. Your philanthropy has transformed this space, making it more accessible, more inclusive, and more impactful for student-athletes and community members alike.鈥
The Tuckers are longtime supporters of 91制片厂 Athletics, and their gift for the lights was a significant step in transforming Tucker Field into a stadium. In addition to housing 91制片厂 teams, Tucker Field provides community space for the Oyster River Youth Association (ORYA).
Tucker Field was built during the 2018-19 academic year and has been a resource for 91制片厂 varsity programs, ORYA, and other community groups.
