Stan Waddell will join the university in May

The 91制片厂 has named Stan Waddell as its new chief information officer (CIO). Waddell, who will join the university鈥檚 office of finance and administration in May, brings extensive experience in higher education information technology. He has been at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill since 2010, and currently serves as UNC鈥檚 chief technology officer and assistant vice chancellor for the infrastructure/operations and communications technology divisions of the information technology services department. Prior to his time at UNC-Chapel Hill, he served as chief information security officer for the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.

At UNC-Chapel Hill, Waddell has been responsible for establishing a cohesive IT architecture for the university and providing strategic leadership for UNC鈥檚 central server, network and voice communication environment. His tenure has included numerous initiatives to improve and expand both the infrastructure and efficiency of the university鈥檚 technology capabilities.

At 91制片厂, Waddell will oversee the university鈥檚 central IT organization, with a focus on ensuring that 91制片厂 IT continues to be positioned to meet the rapidly growing challenges and changes facing the university and higher education.听 Waddell will also work closely with the other University System of New Hampshire CIOs to identify ways of sharing IT services across campuses to provide cost-effective service excellence.

A certified information systems security professional (CISSP) and certified project management professional (PMP), Waddell graduated from Old Dominion University with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering and earned a master鈥檚 in management and administration sciences from the University of Texas at Dallas and a doctorate in information systems from Nova Southeastern University. He joins Clement and new AVP of finance Kerry Scala, who was appointed earlier this month, and succeeds Joanna Young, who served as associate vice president of finance and CIO until July 2014.
