DURHAM, NH 鈥揟wo new exhibitions, Momentum: Works by the University鈥檚 Art and Art History Department Faculty and Closer Readings: New Hampshire Writers Respond to Art听will be on view at the Museum of Art, 91制片厂 beginning Feb. 2, 2017. A reception takes place on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017 from 6:00-8:00pm. The Museum of Art and its programs are open to the public free of charge. Momentum, Works by the University鈥檚 Art and Art History Department Faculty听will be open until April 9, 2017 and Closer Readings: New Hampshire Writers Respond to Art听will be open until May 19, 2017.听The Museum will be closed March 10-19 and April 10-20, 2017.

Momentum,听Works by the University鈥檚 Art and Art History Department Faculty

Momentum: Works by the University鈥檚 Art and Art History Department Faculty will be on view Feb. 2 鈥� April 9, 2017.听 Selected works by Sachiko Akiyama, Brian Chu, Richard Fox, Craig Hood, Julee Holcombe, and Donald Williams will be on display. Works of painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, and photography will fill the Museum鈥檚 upper level Carter Gallery. The six participating faculty members are professional artists, involved in national and international exhibitions while serving as mentors to undergraduate and graduate students at the University. This exhibition highlights the broad scope of the department鈥檚 visual voice and creativity.

Closer Readings: New Hampshire Writers Respond to Art

Closer Readings: New Hampshire Writers Respond to Art on view Feb. 2 鈥� May 19, 2017 presents work from distinguished writers from across the State as they respond to significant works of art in the permanent collection of the Museum of Art.

A selection of forty works from the Museum鈥檚 permanent collection by former faculty, students, and those closely associated with the State鈥檚 artistic heritage will be on view. The wide variety of work includes: James Aponovich 鈥�71, Arthur Balderacchi, Hyman Bloom, Tom Glover 鈥�84, John Woodsum Hatch, Lotte Jacobi, Edwin Scheier and Carol Aronson-Shore.
