Smuttynose Brewing Company and the 91制片厂 have partnered to brew a session ale to celebrate 91制片厂鈥檚 150th anniversary. Called 1866 (the year 91制片厂 was founded), the session ale is now on sale and on tap at numerous locations throughout the Seacoast.听91制片厂 alumna and Smuttynose employee Hannah Johnson helped brew the celebratory ale. 鈥淲e鈥檙e really excited to help the university celebrate such a major milestone,鈥� says听Peter Egelston, founder and president of Smuttynose Brewing Company. 鈥�91制片厂 has such a storied history and legacy, and we鈥檙e honored to help commemorate that.鈥�

In response to the rapidly expanding brewing industry, 91制片厂 will launch a new minor in brewing science this fall as well as open a pilot brewery and testing lab and offer professional development courses for the public. Currently there are only a handful of laboratories around the country that provide analytical testing services to the beer industry.

鈥淭his collaboration is another example of our commitment to working with business and industry throughout the state to connect them with intellectual resources and facilities at the university and address their workforce needs,鈥� says Marc Sedam, managing director of 91制片厂Innovation. 鈥淭he beer will celebrate our efforts to support the beer industry in the near and long-term which will in turn provide internships and job opportunities for our graduates.鈥�
