Harris working听at Hertz
This summer, there was a Wildcat on the Gulf Coast of Florida.
Even though she was far away from 91制片厂, Leah Harris '19 still had听the Granite State on her mind. As one of the few northerners听interning at Hertz Corporation, the junior accounting and management major听shared some Wildcat love with her colleagues.
鈥淢y coworkers have been asking questions about the 91制片厂 and Paul College. It allowed me to share what it means to be a Wildcat,鈥 she says.
The busy internship kept Harris on her toes.听Because she was at company headquarters, she saw how the teams in the corporate office听work together, while she performed data analysis work for the company.
鈥淚听had the opportunity to shadow other workers. Through this exposure, I am able to see the different markets and how all the teams need to coordinate to come to the common goal,鈥 she says. 鈥淢y work at Hertz is numbers-based and research-driven and requires detailed accuracy.鈥澨
A Paul College opportunity allowed Harris to take this summer internship far from her home in New City, New York. To help with living expenses,听Harris applied for and received a stipend from Paul College鈥檚 Internship Opportunity听Fund, which was created by alumni and friends of the college to support students doing internships that would otherwise be cost-prohibitive.听
鈥淭he Internship Opportunity Fund is one of many of the resources Paul College has to support our efforts for practical internships, and it was beneficial to me,鈥 says Harris.
