We hope YouScheduler team members Kristian Comer 鈥20 and Francesco Mikulis-Borsoi 鈥20 have scheduled some time to celebrate now that they have won the 30th annual Paul J. Holloway Prize Innovation to Market Competition and a $10,000 top prize.
The sophomore duo developed a class scheduling solution to address a common pain point students have when trying to schedule their courses for the semester: an efficient way to help them build in time for meals, part-time jobs听and student teams or organizations, while still getting the classes they need. YouScheduler is currently being piloted at 91制片厂, and according to Comer and Mikulis-Borsoi, the platform has听received glowing endorsements from both students and university administrators, including John听Kirkpatrick, 91制片厂鈥檚 senior vice provost of student life and dean of students.
鈥淚 was just really impressed by the caliber of everyone who came out to the Holloway competition this year and presented.鈥澨
PassCrypt, a password manager built on blockchain technology, took second place听and the Lynn and Mike Marsh Award for the best business plan. PassCrypt consisted of team members Brandon Bryant 鈥18, Colin Small 鈥20, Angela Tidd 鈥18 and Dylan Wheeler 鈥19. The team of Joe Scheidler 鈥18 and Brandon Smith 鈥18 took third place for their idea,听Pathlete, a system to help match underrecruited student athletes with the needs of college coaches.
The second annual Holloway Prize People鈥檚 Choice Award went to blended., a team consisting of Katelyn Smith 鈥18, Genevieve Wolfe 鈥18听and Christopher Rossi 鈥18, who pitched their idea for an experiential blended wine tasting and tapas bar.
said Max Miller听鈥20, a member of last year's winning team, Droppn. 鈥淓very single one of them was incredibly impressive, incredibly professional听and the caliber and complexity听of the ideas and the听knowledge of each of the participants was amazing,鈥 he said.听听
