Diversity, inclusion ideas could earn up to $2,500

Wednesday, October 9, 2019

Have a great idea for integrating diversity and inclusion into the 91制片厂 community? Submit a proposal in the new Dive In and Deliver challenge and you could earn $2,500 to support your project, with the potential for an additional $2,500 in matching funds.

91制片厂鈥檚 new Inclusion Council launched the challenge recently with support from the Office of Community, Equity and Diversity.听 The contest is open to students, faculty and staff on all three 91制片厂 campuses. Up to four projects will win support. The deadline for submitting proposals is Oct. 15.

The effort is designed to encourage the 91制片厂 community to take an active role in advancing diversity and inclusion through workshops, discussion series, educational programming, social media outreach, curriculum development and other activities. Projects will have 18 months to be completed, starting Jan. 2, 2020.

The challenge was created to encourage community-generated projects in addition to ongoing efforts managed by the 91制片厂 administration, said Monica Chiu, interim associate vice president for Community, Equity and Diversity. The challenge is also interdisciplinary, and proposals must include a mix of students, faculty or staff, with cross-college collaboration encouraged.

The winning teams will present their projects in the spring at a lunch with 91制片厂 President James W. Dean Jr.
