Professor James Ramsay, Ph.D., will lead a virtual info session about 91制片厂's homeland security program on March 2.

Join us for a听听to meet faculty, explore areas of study, hear success stories of our graduates and learn how the real-world experience you鈥檒l get at 91制片厂 Durham or听听will prepare听you for your future.听The will be led by James Ramsay, Ph.D., who spearheaded the creation of 91制片厂's homeland security program, which was a catalyst that earned 91制片厂听its designation as a National Center of Excellence in Cyber Defense Education by the U.S. National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.
Ramsay鈥檚 research interests include climate security, law enforcement education and the relationship between environmental and human security and national security strategic planning. He has published several books and has served as a subject matter expert on local and national media on a wide range of health, safety, emergency management and environmental health issues.听His work has earned him multiple accolades from the American Society of Safety Professionals, including selection as a听2019 ASSP Fellow, the 2016 Culbertson Award for Excellence in Service, the 2011 President鈥檚 Award and the 2008 William Tarrants Award Outstanding Safety Educator Award.
What do you like best about your job?
JR: Teaching security studies to students, engaging students in our democracy, and my colleagues.

JR: Travel, cycling, movies and eating with family and friends.
