This year鈥檚 URC saw more than a 10% increase in student participants over URC 2023. There were 20 events held on the Durham and Manchester campuses during the event, featuring presentations from students working in a massive array of disciplines across the entire university, with all schools and colleges and an extensive number of majors represented. A competitive distance runner, Sullivan聽 '23 wondered if blood flow restriction, a common rehabilitative method primarily used in resistance training, could be applied to running. Goldwater Scholarship, the nation鈥檚 premier undergraduate award for science, math, engineering and technology (STEM) majors. Eli Duggan 鈥�23 and Emily Pratt 鈥�23 joined the other 415 new recipients to receive the award, which covers up to $7,500 toward the cost of tuition, fees, books and room and board. The Goldwater is the premier scholarship for sophomore and junior STEM students who plan to pursue a Ph.D. and have a career in research.
