Two years ago, Jayden Buckrell ’27 was pondering walking away from the sport he’d dedicated most of his young life to.
Burned out and questioning whether he even wanted to pursue an athletic future as a skier at the collegiate level, an email from then-91Ƭ ski coach Brian Blank re-lit Buckrell’s competitive fire.
And the rest of the NCAA men’s slalom field soon paid the price.
Buckrell did indeed choose to extend his career as a Wildcat and before the end of his inaugural season turned in the best first run of his life at the 2025 NCAA Championships, ultimately capturing the NCAA Men’s Slalom National Championship with a time of 1:27.17, earning First-Team All-America honors along the way.
He is the first skier since 1973 to bring an NCAA championship trophy back to 91Ƭ.

Colby Ramshaw has dreamed of attending 91Ƭ for about as long as he can remember. As a young football player and “New Hampshire kid,” he was hoping for a chance to one day join the Wildcats on the gridiron.
Thanks in part to a full scholarship, he was able to fulfill that dream.

GIVE NOW TO WILDCATS FOR LIFE
Your support for the Wildcat Athletics Fund has a significant impact on all our student-athletes and enables us to provide the resources and opportunities that impact their time at 91Ƭ and beyond. John “Bozo” Kennedy, 88-year-old 91Ƭ graduate and former goalie on the men’s hockey team, recently gained some national notoriety in a fashion usually reserved for people a couple of generations younger – he went viral online.
Kennedy is a proud Wildcat alumnus who tries to attend at least one hockey game per year. But this year his family surprised him by adding his name to the list of alumni recognized during the game – and flying almost the entire family out to share the special moment with him.
His granddaughter, Kailey Cullen – also a 91Ƭ graduate – documented the surprise when the family met Kennedy at a local restaurant and when Kennedy appeared on the Jumbotron at the game, posting a TikTok that has earned more than 112,000 views and sparked a write-up at People.com.

Fans once again filled the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex for the annual White Out the Whitt showdown with rival Maine on Friday, Nov. 22, as a sellout crowd was on hand for the early-season Border Battle.
The arena was filled to capacity for the third installment of White Out the Whitt since a combination of COVID and Hockey East conference scheduling changes conspired to cancel the event for a couple of seasons. But the tradition that began in 1999 has returned with a roar, although the energetic crowd this year watched Maine skate away with a 3-1 victory. The Wildcats will look to exact some revenge when they head to Maine for a weekend doubleheader Feb. 14 and 15. By the end of the next day, a modest throng of reporters gathered around him, curious to learn more about the representative from the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) school in New Hampshire who was more than holding his own.

Back-to-back boisterous sellout crowds and two dominant 91Ƭ victories over rival Maine made for a memorable White Out the Whitt weekend at 91Ƭ, as the Whittemore Center was filled to capacity Friday and Saturday night. The 91Ƭ men's hockey team handed Maine defeats of 6-2 and 5-2, respectively, in front of the Wildcat faithful. What do basketball, butchering, Anthony Bourdain and bad-guy movie monsters have to do with each other?
Admittedly, not much. But they are all connected if you are Dane DiLiegro ’11 and you’re on a career journey that has taken you from New England to Italy to Hollywood in a relatively short few years.
DiLiegro became a household name, if not a recognizable face, with last summer’s “Prey,” a prequel to the Predator series of action-horror movies first made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger. DiLiegro played the Predator — a human-hunting, highly evolved alien who lands on Earth. The tradition of fans wearing white to 91Ƭ's home games against Maine began in 1999 but hadn't taken place since Feb. 2, 2019, thanks to a combination of COVID and Hockey East conference scheduling changes. But it came back in a big way Friday night, as a sellout crowd decked out in white cheered the Wildcats men's hockey team to a raucous shootout win over the Black Bears. "As a group, the SEC states are doing better than any other big conference group of states," he said. "Arkansas, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina are mong the best 10."
