Building the regionâ€™s future healthcare workforce is a team effort, and a partnership between the 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) and the Southern New Hampshire Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is helping lead the way by investing in the next generation before they even graduate high school. When faced with change, Ruth Swenson leans on a simple but steadfast belief: things will work out. Itâ€™s a mindset that has shaped every chapter of her life.Â 
After more than a decade as a nurse on the med-surg floor at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, Swensonâ€™s mentors encouraged her to consider becoming an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN). As she explored her options, a well-timed email about 91ÖÆÆ¬³§â€™s Advanced Nursing Education Workforce (ANEW) program helped make the next step clear. Â

His research, combining engineering and nursing insights, aims to create accessible training tools for hospitals in low-resource countries where neonatal mortality remains high and equipment is often unaffordable.
