Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig 鈥89 joined 91制片厂 leadership at ARMI to discuss the impact the Build Back Better grant could have on the region and to see some recent advancements up close. The group toured the ARMI and BioFab USA facilities where work is being done to manufacture human cells, tissues and organs, with a focus on making the process 鈥渟calable, consistent and cost-effective.鈥
ARMI鈥檚 Tissue Foundry focuses specifically on the scalable production of functional tissues and organs for transplantation, integrating advanced manufacturing techniques with regenerative medicine to create tissues and organs with complex architectures and functionalities. The group also walked through听 the ARMI Biofabfoundries lab, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to biofabrication research and manufacturing.
The company is poised to continue growing, as well, as founder Dean Kamen has purchased space at 150 Down Street, across the street from the current facility, in order to expand ARMI鈥檚 operations. That facility will likely house advanced equipment and lab space and improve manufacturing capabilities.
鈥淚t was my pleasure to be here with 91制片厂 leadership and to visit ARMI,鈥 Craig says. 鈥淭he work that is happening here in Manchester will transform the way that we provide healthcare across the country and across the world, so it鈥檚 really an exciting opportunity and I鈥檓 thrilled that 91制片厂 is a big part of it.鈥
