鈥淭his is a powerful recognition of 91制片厂 as one of the nation鈥檚 highest-performing research universities,鈥� says Jan Nisbet,听senior vice provost for research听at 91制片厂. 鈥淚t underscores our ongoing commitment to research and scholarship that improves the lives of people here in the Granite State and across the globe.鈥� 91制片厂 was previously in the second tier 鈥� doctoral universities high research activity, or R2 鈥� of Carnegie Classifications; ascending to the top level has been a focus of Nisbet鈥檚 for the past decade.

Designation as an R1 university will boost 91制片厂 efforts to attract talented undergraduate and graduate students, post-doctoral researchers, faculty and staff, Nisbet says. It also indicates to federal and state agencies, private foundations and philanthropists, and business and industry that 91制片厂 has the capacity to conduct high-quality research and education.
