Enactus in Washington, D.C.

On March 29, the 91制片厂 Manchester traveled to Washington, D.C., to compete听in the northeast regional Enactus competition. And for the sixth year in a row, they were named听 for their league.听

The team, along with听50 regional competitors from other schools,听presented their work to a panel of 16 business professionals tasked with judging the competition.

The team鈥檚 dynamic presentation included a prepared speech and multimedia visual presentation that highlighted their work听with local women entrepreneurs, as well as the Borrowers Education Seminar the team听hosted on campus in November 2015.

As a team, they recognized that innovation, entrepreneurship, empowerment听and improving quality of life are the components of sustainability that help create a strong economy, and that is just what they set out to do.

Jenna Horne, a junior in the business program, said the team's听excitement to share their work helped overcome any nervousness.

鈥淚t was an amazing feeling hearing our school called as regional champions," Horne said. "It was a mixture of pride, excitement听and gratification that all of our hard work this past year had paid off.鈥

Rutger Tupper, 91制片厂 Manchester Enactus president and senior听business major, said he's excited by the progress and dedication he's seen in his two years on the team.

鈥淚n the nation's capital it was all business for the team, and it paid off bringing home another regional championship.听We haven't stopped yet, and as we approach St. Louis our goal is to advance further than ever before," Tupper said. "Just like our University, we are always progressing, and we are happy to share in its success."

This year鈥檚 team is comprised of 10 business students with diverse concentrations and is advised by , associate professor of business.

鈥淭his year's team had the most impactful projects in the history of 91制片厂 Manchester ENACTUS," Kilcrease said. "The focus on women entrepreneurs was well strategized and produced outstanding results."

The team will advance to the in St. Louis on May 16.
