Institutions to celebrate pathway launch at NCC, March 4

Starting this fall, a new transfer agreement will connect the Nashua Community College criminal justice students with the . Called a 2+2 pathway, the agreement allows criminal justice associate degree graduates from NCC to start in the homeland security program at 91制片厂 Manchester with full credit for all NCC courses.

鈥淭his is a great opportunity for students to start their education at NCC and finish it at 91制片厂,鈥 said David Dinwoodie, Criminal Justice Program Coordinator at Nashua Community College. 鈥淎 degree in homeland security opens the door to a wide range of career paths at the Federal or State level or within the burgeoning defense industry.鈥

To make the pathway possible, Dinwoodie worked with听91制片厂 Manchester Dean and , professor of security studies and 听program coordinator.

鈥淲e are excited to expand academic options that make 91制片厂 more accessible and affordable for NCC students,鈥 Decelle said. 鈥淏oth colleges are committed to fostering meaningful outcomes for students, and the new homeland security pathway furthers that mission by offering NCC students more and stronger employment prospects in the high-demand fields of security and law enforcement.鈥

Ramsay said the pathway opens doors for NCC students by connecting them to the range of careers that 91制片厂鈥檚 homeland security program prepares them for.

鈥91制片厂 homeland security graduates are uniquely positioned for careers in intelligence, counter-terrorism, law enforcement, environmental health, strategic planning and risk management, emergency management and cybersecurity,鈥 Ramsay said. 鈥淭his pathway opens more doors for criminal justice students at NCC to pursue rewarding careers in the public and private sectors as well as the military.鈥

91制片厂 Manchester has been an excellent partner in forging new seamless pathways between NCC associate degree programs and bachelor鈥檚 degrees at 91制片厂 Manchester. In addition to the homeland security agreement, the two institutions also offer pathways for programs such as electronic engineering technology, business, data analytics, psychology, and more.

As of the 2018-2019 academic year, 91制片厂 Manchester is the most popular transfer location for NCC graduates, with of graduates choosing the University for their Bachelor鈥檚 Program.
