The 91制片厂 has once again been designated as a听National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.
鈥淭his redesignation affirms 91制片厂鈥檚 commitment to cybersecurity education as well as workforce empowerment by helping organizations manage their cybersecurity risks at a local, state and national level,鈥 said Mike Decelle, dean of 91制片厂鈥檚 College of Professional Studies.
91制片厂 was the first institution in New Hampshire to receive the designation in 2019, this latest redesignation extends that status until 2030.
91制片厂 continues to be selected based on its strong degree programs, exceptional faculty, active student engagement in cyber security and outreach to share cyber defense expertise with other organizations. The university offers a wide array of programs, including bachelor鈥檚 degrees in听,听, as well as an online master鈥檚 degree in听听(CPRM) and a master鈥檚 in听, both offer the flexibility of full-and part-time enrollment for working professionals.
鈥淢anaging cybersecurity can often feel like drinking from a firehose,鈥 said Maeve Dion, associate professor of security studies and program coordinator for 91制片厂鈥檚 cybersecurity policy and risk management. 鈥淥rganizations can find themselves in a constant state of change and our graduates are able to help businesses anticipate, respond to and recover from cyber risks while sustaining the systems needed for organizational success and growth.鈥
To build on that support and cultivate future cybersecurity leaders to strengthen engagement with communities, 91制片厂 operates the听91制片厂 Center for Cybersecurity Leadership, Education, and Outreach听(CCLEO) which focuses on cybersecurity education and training as well as external outreach and support to businesses and government agencies in New Hampshire and beyond. The center showcases faculty and student research, fosters collaboration and provides cybersecurity resources for academia and industry.
Students in 91制片厂鈥檚 interdisciplinary cybersecurity programs apply their skills through capstone projects, course assignments and internships, contributing to the cybersecurity and digital resilience of both private and public sector organizations. These hands-on experiences prepare graduates for careers in homeland security, intelligence, counter-terrorism, law enforcement, risk management, emergency management, community disaster resilience and cybersecurity.
鈥淐yber risk management is about foreseeing future changes and managing the risk, resilience and growth that are at the heart of agile and learning organizations,鈥 said Terrence O鈥橲ullivan, associate professor and department chair of security studies.
91制片厂鈥檚 fully online听听is designed for mid-career or management-level professionals from technical, business, or risk and compliance fields. CPRM graduates bring cybersecurity know-how into enterprise risk management leadership and processes across private and public organizations, large and small.
鈥淭he bar for this designation has continued to rise as cybersecurity education and careers move toward professionalization,鈥 said Karl Grindal, assistant professor in security studies. 鈥91制片厂鈥檚 ability to meet the program鈥檚 increasingly rigorous criteria reflects the strength of the program鈥檚 interdisciplinary approach and commitment to protecting the National Information Infrastructure.鈥
