The passage from high school to college can be challenging, and it can be especially difficult for first-generation and multilingual learners. In response, a听multidisciplinary team from 91制片厂 Manchester听created a workshop to ease the transition to higher education for听students in our communities.

Mechanical engineering student Cornelius Plomp '22 and engineering physics听student Trevor Cox '22 each participated in a competitive internship experience at DEKA, working on an array of research projects for some of the most innovative companies in the world. They share their experience on how the hands-on experience will prepare them for their careers and how it helped shaped the type of companies they plan to pursue employment at in the near future.

91制片厂 has expanded its partnership with the Peace Corps to offer the Paul D. Coverdell Fellows program to returned Peace Corps volunteers who wish to pursue a Master of Science in Global Conflict and Human Security.

Kayla Hadley, a 2015 graduate of 91制片厂鈥檚 environmental engineering program, was one five honored with the 2021 Environmental Business Council of New England, Inc鈥檚 The award recognizes young professionals in the energy and environmental sectors demonstrating exceptional leadership and industry involvement early in their careers.

After a pair of weather-related postponements, 91制片厂 hosted its annual University Day (Uday) celebration on Sept. 22, welcoming students, staff and faculty to Main Street to celebrate the start of the academic year and explore a wide variety of offerings from student groups and local vendors.

Over the past decade, New Hampshire has worked to become a more diverse state, with 87.2% of people identifying as non-Hispanic and White alone according to Census data analyzed by Ken Johnson, Senior Demographer at the Carsey School of Public Policy. Many Louisiana families are in the midst of a food crisis as a result of the 280,000 jobs lost during the pandemic, according to research reported by the Carsey School of Public Policy. Roughly half of these jobs have been recovered, but KALB News in Louisiana听has reported on听the ongoing problem and how communities are working to resolve the twin issues of job loss and food insecurity.

The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) has recognized the work of 91制片厂鈥檚 Career and Professional Success (CaPS) office on the Diversity and Inclusion Employer Champion Program, in its Best Practices series online for the impact it has had on diversity, equity and inclusion.
