鈥淲inter is coming,鈥� the saying goes. But is it? New research from 91制片厂 has found clear signs of a decline in frost days, snow covered days and other indicators of winter that could have lasting impacts on ecosystems, water supplies, the economy, tourism and human health.

When Julie Palais 鈥�78 completed an assignment in the final days of her undergraduate career at 91制片厂, she had no idea it was the seed that would sprout an award-winning career as a polar glaciologist at the National Science Foundation.

But that assignment, a proposed research visit to the Athabasca Glacier in Canada that came to fruition, would only be the first trip to dozens of glaciers in Antarctica in her effort to help forge the United States as a leader in glaciology research.

A flu clinic for faculty,听staff and students will take place Wednesday, Oct. 9, from听9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the听Hamel Recreation Center.听
