A Childhood Across Continents
Growing up, my life was a series of international moves鈥攕tarting when my family relocated to Hong Kong for my dad鈥檚 job when I was just six. Each move plunged me into new cultures and educational systems. The rigorous academic environment in Singapore inspired me to strive for excellence, while my time in rural New Zealand taught me to value passion in one's career choices.
Choosing 91制片厂 for Its Proximity and Opportunities
My journey led me back to the US for college when my parents decided to settle in Portland, ME. I chose 91制片厂 not only because it was close to my new home, but also for its strong business program and rugby team鈥攁 sport that is a huge part of who I am, and only of the only constants through my childhood.
Finding My Passion at Paul College
At Paul College, I discovered not just my academic and career interests but also learned a lot about myself as a person. What brings me joy, my strengths, and my weaknesses. The community at 91制片厂 has been huge in this self-discovery. I鈥檓 most proud of the friends I鈥檝e made here. The people at 91制片厂 are so enriching. I love the variety of mindsets on this campus. Plus, the school is a perfect size. Not too big or small, with lots of opportunities to meet people from different walks of life.
Rugby and Relationships: Lessons Beyond the Field
One of my favorite memories at 91制片厂 involves traveling with the rugby team during my freshman year. I was a bit reserved, shy. Despite that, I felt respected and valued by the seniors. Rugby has always taught me valuable life lessons about respect, teamwork, and dedication鈥攑rinciples that apply well beyond the sports field. What I love about our team is that it doesn't matter what year you are.
Taking Risks and Being Grateful
My experience at 91制片厂 reinforces the belief that college is what you make of it. The risks I've taken鈥攋oining clubs, applying for jobs, engaging in different experiences鈥攈ave made college worthwhile. Given the platform: I want to thank my mom, who sacrificed so much to give me these opportunities. Her journey from Mexico to the US and beyond has been the foundation of my own path, making her my greatest supporter and inspiration.
