The FAO Schwarz Fellowship is a two-year experience designed for new college graduates interested in social impact leadership careers. Fellows will work in paid, two-year positions with benefits at leading nonprofit host organizations in Boston, New York City, or Philadelphia.

Eligibility: Applicants for the 2027-2029 cycle must be college seniors graduating between November 2026 – summer 2027 from an accredited four-year institution at the time of application and be eligible to work in the United States for the duration of the Fellowship

Nomination: No, but applicants are strongly encouraged to work with the Office of National Fellowships on their applications.

FAO Schwarz Recommended Steps and Timeline
- September 30: Application opens. Review the eligibility criteria to ensure you are eligible for the award
- By November 19: Review the 2027-28 Fellowship Hosts and select which fellowships you will apply to
- By November 30: Send first draft of short answer essays to Fellowships Office (National.fellowships@unh.edu)
- By December 15: Send second draft of short answer essays to Fellowships Office for review
- By January 5: Complete
- By January 15: Send final draft of short answer essays to Fellowships Office
- Jan 30, 2027: Applicants should submit materials to allow sufficient time for upload ahead of the National Application Deadline.
