The Stanley A. Hamel Traveling Fellowship (HTF) provides one annual grant of approximately $4,000 to support self-directed travel in Europe.
This award is funded by an endowment from Stanley A. Hamel through the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation and administered by the 91制片厂 Office of National Fellowships. Interested candidates must email national.fellowships@unh.edu for application materials.

Learn More About the Application
- 91制片厂 undergraduate seniors or graduate students who are on track to graduate in May 2027, Summer 2027, or December 2027; recent graduates (within 5 years)
- Note: HTF-supported travel can only occur after graduation from 91制片厂
- U.S. citizens or permanent residents
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (no rounding up)
- Propose self-directed travel in Europe (including Russia but excluding Turkey) to last a minimum of 4 weeks; Travel must start after May 1 of the application year and be completed by April 30 of the following year
- Possess or plan to develop some language facility relevant to the proposed itinerary
- Preference will be given to applicants who reside in the following New Hampshire towns, listed in order of priority: Seabrook, Hampton Falls, and Exeter
- Applicants cannot apply jointly
- Connection between proposed travel and the Hamel Endowment focus
- Rationale for proposed travel and connection to professional/personal goals and objectives
- Feasibility and clarity of reasoning for proposed itinerary
- Evidence of motivation, drive, and maturity/capacity for independent travel
- Academic preparation and record
- Application form with budget
- CV/resume (2 page max)
- Essay (1 page max)
- Itinerary for trip (1 page max)
- Unofficial transcript
- One letter of recommendation
- One language evaluation (if applicable)
