Freeman-ASIA, sponsored by the Freeman Foundation, supports U.S.-based undergraduates with demonstrated financial need to study overseas in East or Southeast Asia. Upon return from their study abroad, award recipients are required to share their experiences with their home campuses or communities to encourage others to study abroad and support the Program's goal of increasing the number of U.S. citizens and permanent residents with first-hand exposure to and understanding of Asia and its peoples and cultures.

Eligibility: Undergraduates on financial aid with minimum of 2.8 GPA who will be studying abroad in East or Southeast Asia. Must have little or no previous experience in country where plan to study.

Freeman-Asia Recommended Steps and Timeline
- By February 15: Review the eligibility criteria to ensure you are eligible for the award
- By March 1: Submit draft 1 of essays (Asian Languages, Asian Studies, Statement of Purpose, Service Proposal) to Fellowships Office (National.Fellowships@unh.edu).
- March 15: Submit draft 2 of essays (Asian Languages, Asian Studies, Statement of Purpose, Service Proposal) to Fellowships Office (National.Fellowships@unh.edu).
- By April 1: (1) Send final drafts of essays (Asian Languages, Asian Studies, Statement of Purpose, Service Proposal) to Fellowships Office (National.Fellowships@unh.edu) and (2) complete FERPA form to request copy of official 91制片厂 transcript from the Office of National Fellowships.
- April 2027: Applicants should submit materials by April TBA, 2027 to allow sufficient time for upload ahead of the National Application Deadline.
