Kenneth Johnson, senior demographer at the Carsey School of Public Policy and professor of sociology at the 91制片厂, told Newsweek: "We have found that people don't migrate or stay put for a single reason. Rather, and this is a key point, the decision to migrate or not is generally impacted by several different factors and the mix of factors and their relative importance varies by life-cycle stage." 听听

International Changemaker Grant Sends Students to Work in Global Communities

The International Changemaker Grant will send five teams of 91制片厂 students to a variety of international locations this summer, where the students will work in native communities and collaborate with organizations working on sustainability initiatives ranging from energy insecurity and community resilience to plastic waste and accessible sanitation at schools.

Students will be traveling to Senegal, Kenya, Cambodia and Uganda.

One Student and One Recent Graduate Earn Critical Language Scholarships

One 91制片厂 student and one recent graduate received Critical Language Scholarships (CLS) this spring, giving them both the opportunity to participate in immersive language study. Jacob Remick 鈥19 鈥24G will take part in the overseas program 鈥 studying in Tajikistan 鈥 while Cooper Mee 鈥28 will participate in the CLS Spark virtual program, studying Japanese thanks to facilitation from the LTL Language School in Tokyo.

91制片厂 Helps Feed Seacoast By Donating Locally Grown Fish to Gather Food Pantry

The Center for Sustainable Seafood Systems at the 91制片厂 has donated close to 60 pounds of smoked steelhead trout to , a nonprofit that helps feed those experiencing hunger in New Hampshire鈥檚 Seacoast and southern Maine. The responsibly grown fish is a product of 91制片厂's AquaFort, a floating aquaculture platform located off the coast of New Hampshire.

Sullivan 鈥26 Earns Goldwater Scholarship

Jack Sullivan 鈥26 has been named a recipient of the , the nation鈥檚 premier undergraduate award for sophomore and junior science, math, engineering and technology (STEM) students who intend to pursue a Ph.D. and career in research. Sullivan hopes to pursue a career in the energy industry, focusing on the sustainable production of alternative fuels.
