Stephen Pimpare, lecturer of American Politics & Public Policy, was recently published on the Center for Law and Social Policy鈥檚 Spotlight on Poverty website.

New Hampshire is a national leader in completion rates of students who began studies at a four-year public institution, according to the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center (NSCRC). With a completion rate of 78%, USNH ranks first in the East and second in the nation.

While the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services suggests such families spend no more than 7% of their income on child care, a report published by the Carsey School shows听that in New Hampshire's Upper Valley, the average cost of care for just one infant is equivilant to about 16% of the median income for families in the region.听

According to a report published by the Carsey School of Public Policy, nearly 35% of rural counties nationwide are undergoing protracted and significant population loss, compared with 9% of urban counties.听

The future is bright for graduates with degrees in computer science. According to the Department of Labor, projected job growth for computer-related careers from 2012 to 2022 ranges from 18 to 37 percent. Not only are these grads in high demand, but a recent survey by the National Association of Colleges and Employers shows they鈥檙e also among the highest paid right out of college.

Samantha Reynolds will join the 91制片厂 Manchester faculty as a Lecturer in Chemistry this fall. Reynolds developed 91制片厂 Manchester's two-semester Organic Chemistry course, which she has taught as an adjunct instructor since 2012. In her role as full-time lecturer as 91制片厂 Manchester, she will offer that course in addition to a section of General Chemistry lecture.

A number of New Hampshire companies and universities have established preferential hiring and acceptance practices towards AmeriCorps Senior Alumni. The Carsey School has joined the AmeriCorps Education Award Matching Program which encourages service year alumni to apply. It also sends a message that they are the type of students that we want to have on campus.听

Dr. Nicholas Mian will join the 91制片厂 Manchester faculty this fall as an Assistant Professor of Psychology, bringing expertise in child and family psychotherapy to the program. Mian, a licensed clinical psychologist, has taught a variety of psychology classes at Boston University and University of Massachusetts Boston, and is excited to start working with students in the 91制片厂 Manchester community.
