From Freshman to Full-Time

Now that the college semester is fully underway and I have settled into my professional role,听I felt that it was time to reflect back over the years of schooling I have had and perhaps give a little advice to students as they progress through theirs. I may be focusing this post towards those in engineering-related fields; however I believe that it can relate to anyone looking for advice as they travel through the various levels of education into the professional career.

It Pays to Step Out of Your Comfort Zone

Graduation is a time of celebration. An acknowledgement of achievements, growth听and entering 鈥渢he world.鈥 In this day and age, it can also be met with a fear of the question, 鈥淪o, what鈥檚 next?鈥

For Sabrina Brown, a 2014 91制片厂 Manchester graduate, that question was welcomed with pride. Within weeks of graduating, she scored a job as an Event Marketing Associate with听听(MISTI) out of Southborough, Mass.

From Student to Scientist

Torn between studying music or science, Zach Window 鈥16 opted for the latter after graduating from Bedford High School.

After starting his college career at Keene State College and later transfering and graduating from听91制片厂 Manchester, Window is a Microbiologist I with听听where he conducts microbiological testing for pharmaceutical companies which includes environmental monitoring and other United States Pharmacopeia (USP) testing.

National Coding Week: Meet CIS Graduate Amanda Schroeder '07

Amanda Schroeder began her college career at the 91制片厂 at Manchester in 2003. As a graduate of Salem High School, Schroeder headed straight to college in the fall. She went in to college just like any other recent high school graduate 鈥 with an idea of her interests but no real concept of what she wanted to do with her life.

鈥淚 knew I wanted to do something technical, but I didn鈥檛 know what, 鈥 Schroeder said.
